Susan McReynolds, MS, RN, CNE, Assistant Professor, Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences, has been selected as a Regional Coordinator for Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She will coordinate Sigma’s Region 5, covering 43 chapters and 12,000 active members in Illinois and Missouri. McReynolds will lead a regional committee, provide strategic support to chapters, and collaborate with Sigma headquarters staff. Regional coordinators are volunteer positions and elected to serve a two-year term.
Sigma is a nonprofit organization whose mission is advancing world health and celebrating nursing excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service. It has more than 135,000 active members participating in more than 540 chapters at more than 700 institutions of higher education in over 100 countries and territories. Members include practicing nurses, instructors, researchers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and others.
McReynolds is a charter member of Sigma’s Pi Pi Chapter, headquartered at Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences, and served on the steering committee to develop the chapter at Blessing-Rieman. The Pi Pi Chapter was chartered in 2000. She has served as President, President Elect, and Vice President, as well as having led a variety of committees for the chapter over the past 20 years. At the Regional level, McReynolds has served on the Awards committee the past four years.
She earned a Master in Nursing degree from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing.
